If you're in the mood for some live music tonight, and would like to support two aspiring young local performers, you might want to check out the graduating concerts by Algoma University music students Matthew Schumacher and Zach Smith.

The soon-to-be grads will be joined by several other musicians in a concert that starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. at The Loft, with doors opening at 7.

Schumacher, who is from Wawa, said attendees can anticipate hearing a variety of performances, including solo piano pieces and duets featuring Josh Norling, Mitchell Petingola, and Smith. Additionally, there will be jazz combo tunes performed alongside Petingola, Smith, and William Carnes.

Smith's show will feature new arrangements of songs he has previously learned and written. Joining him will be an ensemble of talented friends and fellow music students.

"We’ve worked really hard at putting this show together over the past few months, so we hope you come out and enjoy the show," Smith said in a release.

The lineup of musicians includes:

Zach Smith - Bass

William Carnes - Drums

Declan Workman - Piano

Mitchell Petingola - Alto Sax, Piano

Matthew Schumacher - Tenor Sax, Piano

Shealan Byham - Trumpet

Sean McQuilter - Guitar

Jordan Lambert - Drums

Brandon Ruch - Guitar
