Gouligans hoot it up (15 photos)

The 2017 Goualis River Music Fest was on Saturday

Live music and kids activities made up 2017 Goulais River Music Fest at Joseph’s Homestead in Goulais River on Saturday.

Besides musical performances, the event included logging games for kids, an aerial obstacle course, bouncing castles, face painting, cotton candy, and a wagon ride.

The event was a fundraiser for the Odd Fellow organization.

"We need more people to jump in and help that group. Say you're playing baseball and break your leg, they'll help you out with a wheelchair or crutches. But once they're gone, you'll have to buy that stuff. It's pretty amazing what that organization has done," said event organizer Kelly L'Heureux.

Odd Fellow members Warner Woolley and Joe Swystun were given appreciation plaques at the event and Tyson Warner Smith was awarded the Goulais River Outstanding Youth Award in honor of Francis Hilb.
