Ghouls, goblins and ghosts invited to Halloween on Queen

Events, activities for all ages scheduled at a variety of downtown locations on Oct. 29

There will be plenty to see and do for all ages next weekend as the Sault Ste. Marie Downtown Association presents Halloween on Queen Street.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, trick-or-treaters are invited to visit Queenstown merchants between 2 and 4 p.m. There will also be a pet costume contest at 3 p.m.

Activities and events will also take place at the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site and the Sault Ste. Marie Museum.

Outspoken Brewing and The Drawing Club will join forces that evening for a 19+ event that includes music and dancing, cocktails, classic horror movies, costume contests, and more.

The Downtown Association invites the ghouls, goblins, untethered spirits, mortal or unearthly to Queen Street for a trick or a treat!

On Saturday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m., participating Queen Street businesses will be giving out treats! Make sure you say "trick or treat"!

There will also be a pet costume contest at the Queenstown Commons (International Lot parking lot) for your four-legged creature companions! Judges will be looking for:
    1.    Funniest costume
    2.    Most creative costume
    3.    Best costume overall

Make sure to be there by 3 p.m. as the judging begins then!

Are you in need of a costume for the competition? If so, contact the WOOFF Station! They are open this Friday and Saturday as well as next Friday and Saturday 12 to 4 p.m. or book by appointment to [email protected] – all proceeds go to Northern Critters in Need.

Pet costume contest prizes generously sponsored by the Community Development Corporation of SSM and Area.

Make sure to stop by Games Nook II for face painting by I Can Be Face Painting and Perfectly Painted Faces 12 to 4 p.m.

Each half hour, there will be performances from the Witches of Superior including the Wolfshager Hexenbrut Witch Dance between 2 and 4 p.m. at the Queenstown Commons!

The Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site (ECHNS) will be joining us for Halloween on Queen on Oct. 29! Trick-or-treaters can enter through the Old Stone House entrance and exit through the gift shop/Heritage Centre. ECHNS will also be hosting evening Halloween dinners Oct. 27-28 starting at 6 p.m. each night. Tickets are $40 (including tax) including food, cash bar, entertainment and first spooky spirit free! Seating is limited, please RSVP to 705-759-5443.

The preternatural festivities continue into the evening in Downtown as the Sault Ste. Marie Museum in partnership with The Brick Space presents: Night At The Museum: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter ~ starts at 4 p.m.!

Announcement from Outspoken Brewing and Disco Magic:
Halloween, an excuse to dress in costume, let loose and have a devilishly great time with friends. We have partnered up with Disco Magic to present an epic halloween bash on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Your $20 cash or card at the door gets a wristband to two locations to come and go as you please! (the two locations are approximately a two minute walk between each other). Door cover will be taken at OutSpoken!
OutSpoken at 350 Queen St. E.
The Drawing Club at 124 Bruce St.
This event is 19+ only
9 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Outspoken (350 Queen St. E)

Alcohol will be served at OutSpoken, but not at the Disco Magic space. We will have wine, cider and cocktails in addition to beer.

10 p.m. ....Late at Disco Magic (124 Bruce St.) DJs and sound systems at both locations.

This event includes spooky decorations, dark décor, classic horror movies, and sculptures. Costumes are optional but encouraged – prizes for best in show!
