Fresh Magazine gearing up for launch March 28 at the Station Mall

Sault Ste. Marie (March 22, 2007) - Fresh Magazine is poised to launch.

The first issue will be released on March 28, and it will enter with style.

The Station Mall (Dennis St. entrance) will be the place that residents of Sault Ste. Marie can get their first look at the new magazine geared towards this city's young people.

From 4 to 9 p.m., the event will feature live music, fashion, artwork, a live remote with Yes 99.5 FM and more.

A grand prize give-away includes a $500 Station Mall gift card.

Performances include:

4 p.m. - The Wild Turkeys
5 p.m. - kt Antler
6 p.m. - Catherine Taddo
7 p.m. - MD Dunn
8 p.m. - an encore performance by The Wild Turkeys

Fresh Magazine is free to the public and its 5,500 copies will be distributed around Sault Ste. Marie in high traffic locations where 15-to-29-year-olds frequent.

As of March 29, racks containing the new magazine will be located at each high school in the city, Algoma University College, Sault College, SSM Bus Terminal, SSM Public Library, Station Mall, Steelback Centre, Tiny Bubbles, Uppercase Bookstore, and the YMCA.

Many more locations will be added regularly.

The second issue of Fresh will be out on April 25.

The summer issue will be out on June 27 and then it will return with the students in September.

From there Fresh will become a regular bi-monthly.

Fresh Magazine is unique in that it is written almost entirely by the young people of the city, with all content geared towards their demographic.

It features technology, sports and recreation, music and entertainment, careers, health issues and features a section for artists, along with a whole lot more.

In conjunction with the print publication, Fresh will also be launching its website at TheFreshMagazine.com, which will be updated regularly and will provide an additional source of information, news, art and contests.

All article submissions, rants and raves, letters to the editor, photographs and art, can be done directly through this site.

The deadline for submissions in the April issue is set for April 6.

All are encouraged to participate.
