Bon Soo wrapped up today with the popular event

As is tradition, the final day of the annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival included the popular Polar Bear Plunge.

Held this year at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre in an oddly iceless St. Marys River, plungers descended into the waist-deep chilly water via ladder.

Some opted to jump, a few belly-flopped, and most dunked their heads under following encouragement from Sault Search and Rescue staff who were on-hand to ensure everyone's safety.

The event also raised funds for the Algoma University Students' Union Food Pantry.
