Fans pack the house for Ashley MacIsaac (12 photos)

He performed at the Machine Shop for the 46th annual Algoma Fall Festival

It was a packed house at the Machine Shop Friday night as the Algoma Fall Festival hosted renowned Canadian fiddle player, Ashley MacIsaac. It’s not the East Coast boy’s first time in these parts, and it showed.

Throughout the performance, he showed off his knowledge of the Sault – he knew Donna Hilsinger was a newly elected member of City Council, he knew that Chase the Ace was wildly popular here, and he knew the Water Tower Inn was a Hilsinger family business.

“I guess that’s why we got such a good deal,” he joked about the hotel room. “But we found it cheaper on Expedia…”

MacIsaac’s performance was the second last of this year’s festival lineup. The 46th annual Algoma Fall Festival wraps on Thursday, Nov. 1 with an evening with This Hour Has 22 Minutes co-creator, Mary Walsh. Her performance at the Sault Community Theatre Centre begins at 8 p.m.
