Northern Ontario Microbrew Festival is just two weeks away scheduled for Mar. 10 and 11 at the Caruso Club (385 Haig Street, Sudbury, Ont.)

Although this festival runs for two days, the Friday will be truly unique. “It is designed for the well-heeled Beer Connoisseurs,” says Shawn Mailloux, owner of Stack Brewing.

“It’ll feature a smaller more intimate group of breweries showcasing many unique brews including one-offs, seasonals, sours, and casks. These are the rarities, the beers not commonly available in Sudbury or elsewhere,” continued Mailloux.

This day will also have a strong focus on live music and entertainment. It will feature the music of Murder Murder (blood-grass/folk) who just recently returned from a UK Tour, this will be a good welcome home for this local band.

Another group of local Nickelheads that will be performing will be Sudbury Burlesque. “We’re excited to have this group part of the festival,” said Mailloux. Check out this group as they dance, strut, and gyrate on stage trying not to spill their beers.

Headlining the night will be Elliott Brood (alt country/folk). A three piece Juno Award-winning band, their songs are loud and quiet but mostly loud. Across five subsequent albums, Elliott Brood have become one of the premier acts in Canadian roots music and are a must see at this beer festival.

Tickets: $35 Friday admission / $25 Saturday admission / $70 Baller Pass (full weekend and ed. session access) with your ticket you receive a branded festival glass, sample tickets and free access to the official After Party at The Durham Social.
