In addition to being selected by a jury of senior members of the Manitoba writing and publishing community as the winner of the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer, she also takes home the sum of $2,500.

Maybe a trip back to Sault Ste. Marie is in her near future?

I'm just back from the Manitoba Book Awards...did I mention that I was nominated for an award? 

Knock me down with a whisper, but they picked me. 

They picked me! 

I'm so overwhelmed, and happy. 

It was the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Writer. 

Wow. 

I'm still stunned, but wanted to tell you :-)
