Rotaryfest Second Stage has a special treat lined up this year for Canadian folk music lovers.

Riding the wave of acclaim garnered by their 2008 release At The End of Paths Taken, the Cowboy Junkies are slotted to headline Second Stage which takes place Saturday, July 19 on Queen Street East.

"We're thrilled to have the Cowboy Junkies headline this year," said event coordinator Steve Alexander. "By agreeing to play Second Stage, the Cowboy Junkies have taken our little festival to the next level, helped it grow into a respected musical event, and opened the doors for other esteemed Canadian musicians to take part in the future."

Queenstown Square 1 will be closed to traffic in order to host the music stage and other family activities during this day-long festival.

The band schedule is as follows:

In addition to showcasing all-original music, Second Stage will feature "The Queen's Walk," an exhibition of local artwork sponsored by Soo Mill and Thayer Lumber.
