& LOUNGE

*************************
Loplops Gallery & Lounge is proud to present a brand new dinner series from Beyond Borders which will be a monthly event throughout 2007.

For more information on these events please check the website or call the lounge closer to the dates for menu features.

We are proud to present the first two artists in this series, Coco Love Alcorn (pictured) and The Great Lake Swimmers.

Coco Love Alcorn (Vancouver) has been a unique and powerful Canadian musical force for over a decade already and with the release of her latest CD Sugar there seems to be no stopping her now.

She has toured with artists such as Ani DiFranco, Chantal Kreviazuk, Burton Cummings and 54:40 and is one of the biggest stars from the west coast these days.

She also performs in a band with Brad Ferguson (Joystick) that supplies the sounds of Showcase's The L Word and also with an ultra cool jazz band (Paloma) where she fronts all the members of 54:40.

Coco Love put on an amazing show at Loplops Gallery & Lounge (November 16, 2006) that had people begging for an encore show.

On Sunday March 4, Coco Love returns and Loplops Gallery & Lounge is hosting a dinner show with Thymly Manner.

Doors open for the dinner at 6 p.m. and Rosetta will be serving her two-to-three course meal starting at 6:30 p.m.

Doors for just the concert part of the night will open closer to 9 p.m. while Coco Love and special guest Cat Jahnke will be starting shortly after 9 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner are very limited and are only $45 per person.

They can be purchased online or at the lounge.

Do not miss this extraordinary show.

The Great Lake Swimmers (Toronto) will be making their highly anticipated first stop in Sault Ste Marie promoting their latest effort Ongiara to be released by weewerk on March 27, 2007.

Largely the work of singer/songwriter Tony Dekker, it explores the worlds of indie folk, roots music and alt-country pop with a focus on lyrics and the craft of songwriting.

In addition to the core band of Tony Dekker (voice, guitar), Erik Arnesen (banjo, electric guitar) and Colin Huebert (drums, percussion, glockenspiel, timpani), the new album features special guest appearances by singer-songwriter Serena Ryder (backing vocals, autoharp), Bob Egan of Blue Rodeo (pedal steel and dobro), Sarah Harmer (backing vocals) and Owen Pallett of Final Fantasy and Arcade Fire (string arrangements).

Mike Overton (upright bass), Darcy Yates (electric bass), Mike Olsen (cello), and Mike Bonnell (organ) also contributed their talents to this recording.

On Sunday March 25, 2007, The Great Lake Swimmers will be performing at Loplops Gallery & Lounge as part of their Beyond Borders dinner series.

Loplops will be teaming up with Five Restaurant for this show as they will be preparing a two course meal starting at 6 p.m.

Doors will open for just the concert portion of the night shortly before 9 p.m. and The Great Lake Swimmers will be going on shortly after 9 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner are very limited and are only $45 per person.

They can be purchased online or at the lounge.
