The 6th Annual Echoes of the World International Drum Festival takes place this year from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22 at Clergue park in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.

The 6th Annual Echoes of the World International Drum Festival takes place this year from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22 at Clergue park in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.

Newly partnered with the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, the festival aims to promote peace and harmony of all races through, dance, music, storytelling, demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions and the sharing of cultures and resources.

The following is a complete schedule of events (subject to change).

Thursday, June 19

9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Pow Wow Day 1 - sponsored by the Huron Superior District Catholic School Board to educate students and general public

9:30 a.m. - Grand Entry (parade of flag carriers, dancers and drummers) Zones 1, 2 and 3 have been set up for students to witness and learn First Nation drumming as well as international drum teachings

3 p.m. - Pow Wow ends for the day

3 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Missanabie Cree Cloggers

4 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - Hidden Gems Community Arts dance performance – Patricia Wynter with drummer Adam Hayward

5 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Hidden Gems Community Arts dance workshop – Patricia Wynter

7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Sean Jesseau – opening for Kenn Lewis

7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. - Kenn Lewis Steel Drums Performance

Friday, June 20

9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Pow Wow Day 2

9:30 a.m. - Grand Entry (parade of flag carriers, dancers and drummers) Zones 1, 2 and 3 have been set up for students to witness and learn First Nation drumming as well as international drum teachings

3 p.m. - Pow Wow ends with retiring of the flags and give-away

4 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Bhang Lassi drum performance

5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Youth Drum Maker’s Presentation – Mona Jones

7 p.m. - 8 p.m. - Missanabie Cree Cloggers

8 p.m. - 9 p.m. - Wasaayskun and Friends (drummers, singers, guitarist)

9 p.m. - 10 p.m. - You Tube session in Art Gallery (youth drummers Ages 2 – 9)

10 p.m. - 2 a.m. - Sunset Drum Circle – Art Gallery of Algoma

Saturday, June 21

9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Henry Angeconeb Storytelling

10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. - Jeff Stewart Drum Circle

11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Pride Drum Group
