Calling all Northern filmmakers!

Cinéfest Sudbury is once again accepting submissions for the 2014 CTV Best in Shorts Competition!

CTV Best in Shorts Competition is a filmmaker friendly competition.

Submissions are judged for originality, visual story-telling and production value.

If you’re an amateur, student or mid-career short filmmaker, you can advance your career, have your work screened to a festival audience and receive exposure in the film industry.

Best of all, finalists will compete for a host of cash prizes in Open and Student categories - prizes that can be used to bring the next great film idea to life.

CTV Best in Shorts – Sponsored by CTV

Open category: First Place: $1,500
Second Place: $750

Student category: First Place: $1,500
Second Place: $750

Best Animation Award: $1,000 will be presented in this category. Sponsored by Collège Boréal, the animation Award will recognize excellence in computer animation, clay animation and traditional cell animation.

Northern Flicks Award: $1,000 will be presented in this category. Sponsored by Sault College Digital Film Production, the Northern Flicks Award will recognize the film that best celebrates aspects of life in Northern Ontario and that inspires people to re-examine their values and beliefs relating to the environment, health behaviours and/or social change.

Special Award of Merit may also be granted by the jury including Special Jury Award, Camera/Photography, Film Editing, Screenwriting, Experimental, and Cultural.

The deadline for the CTV Best in Shorts competition is Friday, August 15, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

A completed entry form must accompany all entries upon submission.
