NEWS RELEASE

ALGOMA INK

*****************************
Algoma Ink is a juried journal devoted to the publication of poetry, prose, and art from both established and emerging artists which reflects a diversity of social and cultural experience with a focus on literary and artistic excellence.

We encourage the submission of poetry, very short stories, creative non-fiction, as well as visual arts (photography, digital images of original paintings, sculpture, and conceptual art) for annual publication in March.

Because Algoma Ink is a publication of Northern Ontario, it aims to reflect themes of consciousness in that region, however is not limited to this focus.

All submitted manuscripts must be double-spaced and printed on one side only.

Please keep a copy of all material submitted since Algoma Ink will not return submissions, nor will the editors be responsible for lost entries.

Algoma Ink reserves the right to accept or reject any submissions without explanation.

Writing and art work submitted to Algoma Ink cannot be previously published, and must be an original work.

All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter which contains the author/artist's contact information (email address) as well as proper full name of author/artist (as they want it to appear in publication) and an approximate 50-word biography.

Deadline for submissions:

November 1, 2006

- short stories or essays must 750 words or less

- no more than three pieces of work submitted by each author

- for artwork - submit no more than five

- artwork must be in black & white and reduced to 8"x10" image

Please send all submissions to: [email protected] (with attachments in Microsoft Word with c.c. to [email protected]) and one hard copy for each entry to:
