Get ready for some good vibes as the 3rd annual Northern Vibe Festival kicks off today in the heart of northern Ontario. Follow the directions to Poplar Dale Road in Ophir for a weekend of music, art and community as summer winds down.

Live entertainment begins today at 5:30 p.m. on the Forest Stage with Shannon Moan. The complete Forest Stage lineup goes as follows:

Friday

5:30 p.m. - Shannon Moan
7 p.m. - The Steeltown Playboys
9 p.m. - Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect
11 p.m. - Murder Murder

Saturday

1:30 p.m. - Gianni Gagoots
3:30 p.m. - K.I.C.K.
5:30 p.m. - The Harmonauts
7 p.m. - Road Waves
9 p.m. - Scott Huckabay
11 p.m. - Adam’s Mind

The River Stage will feature a variety of DJs throughout the weekend, including Limix, Hakan Loob, DJ Spruceau, Uncle Stu, Patrick Wilcox, Eh Mon, Taberman, Tremors, The Dub Selectah, M’ Damn D, and DJ Manskirt.

Attendees will also enjoy a special performance by the Native American Dance Theatre from Cedar, Wisc. on the Forest Stage, Saturday morning starting at 11:30 a.m. And local illusionist Ryan McFarling will be roaming the festival grounds Friday and Saturday demonstrating his slight-of-hand skills.

Northern Vibe weekend passes, which include two nights of camping, are $90 each and can be purchased until 5 p.m. today (Friday, Aug. 25) at Planetary Pride, 372 Queen St. E., or at the festival gate. Passes for Saturday and Sunday admission are $60 and are available for purchase on the festival gate only.
