West End Theatre Project is hosting auditions on April 15 and 16 at the Sault Community Theatre Centre for its final production of the 2023 season, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

The company is seeking performers aged 16 and above, with the exception of the child role of Benji.

The show will require advanced movement skills, and all those auditioning will need to register for both a singing and dance time slot.

Participants must arrive 30 minutes prior to their call time to allow for administrative tasks and necessary preparation.

All roles being offered for audition are on an unpaid basis, said West End Theatre Project in a news release.

"Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is an ambitious musical boasting 12 production numbers. There will be many opportunities to showcase talent on the stage," the release says. "Not all performers will be required to dress in drag. There are over 300 costume pieces, many of which are extravagant and colourful."

Dance and movement classes will take place once a week in July and August, with classes being held on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. Although individuals selected for the roles will not be expected to attend every class, the West End Theatre Project says it is highly recommended.
