Art Gallery, Sault Symphony team up to host Spring Fusion music event

This week's event roster includes a variety of live music as well as Easter themed activities

Spring Fusion

April 8

The Art Gallery of Algoma and the Sault Symphony Orchestra have teamed up to host Spring Fusion, an evening of art and music at the Art Gallery. The event will be held on Friday, April 8, and will feature performances by singer-songwriter Trevor Tchir, classical violin duo Anya Mallinger and Erica Mancuso, and jazz trio Brandon Ruch, Emmanuel Aigbukor, and Rafael Medina. Attendees can also view the Art Gallery’s Winter Festival of Art Collection while listening to the concert. Broers Jansen will be providing finger foods, and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online.

BrianT & The Sinister Hearts

April 8

BrianT & The Sinister Hearts will be performing live at the Marconi Cultural Event Centre this Friday, April 8 starting at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar and food available. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. The band’s music is a blend of classic rock and blues country, influenced by Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Petty, The Beatles and more. 

Eric Brombacher live at Tazzi’s Cafe

April 9

Eric Brombacher of Eric & The Soo will be performing at Tazzi’s Cafe (478 Queen St. E.) on Saturday, April 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. “I always enjoy singing and strumming for my friends in Sault Ste. Marie, and Tazzi's is a wonderful place to do just that. I look forward to seeing you all,” Brombacher said on the event’s Facebook page. 

Spring Gift and Craft Show

April 9-10

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is hosting a gift and craft show from April 9-10 in honour of the spring season. Fifty local vendors will be selling gifts and crafts just in time for Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation, weddings and more. Admission will be by donation to the Bushplane Museum. Concession will be open for lunch and snacks and there will be a door prize draw each day. 

Yoga with Strong Minds

April 11

In case you missed the first few classes, Amanda Lambert from Strong Minds will be hosting another virtual yoga class on Monday, April 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. The class will be suitable for local youth of all skill levels. Registration can be done online.

Easter Egg Hunt

April 15

The Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site and Entomica Insectarium have partnered together to host an Easter event on April 15. Participants can bring their own Easter basket and go on a scavenger hunt starting at the Heritage Discovery Centre at the Ermatinger Site, and ending at Entomica Insectarium at the Bushplane Museum. Solve riddles and earn a bag of Easter treats at the end of the hunt. Entomica will have insects, chickens, alpacas, and bunnies to play with. Admission is $10 per child, adults included. Registration can be found online by searching Egg Hunt and selecting a time slot. 

Easter Eggcitement at the Library

April 16

The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library (50 East St.) is celebrating Easter by hosting fun activities on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages can join in on making Easter crafts while supplies last. No registration is necessary, but parents must stay with children under 10 years old.
