White Christmas is coming and the Sault Symphony Association is looking for the cast

SAULT STE. MARIE - (September 1) - The Sault Symphony Association is proud to present a full stage version of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre from December 8 through 12, 2010... just in time for the holiday season!

On September 8 and 9, the Sault Symphony will be hosting open auditions and invites all actors, singers and dancers interested in participating in the production to come out and join the fun.

Directed by Timothy Murphy and choreographed by Sherry Walsh with musical direction by John Wilkinson conducting the Sault Symphony Orchestra, this two-time Tony Award-nominated family favourite promises to be the theatrical event of the year.

When: September 8 and 9, 7p.m.

Where: Station Mall (exact location TBA)

Cast requirements

Principal Characters:

- Bob Wallace - singing and dancing role

- Phil Davis - a song-and-dance comic performer

- Betty Haynes - a female singer of quiet beauty and charm

- Judy Haynes - a major song-and-dance performer

- General Henry Waverly - with the exception of one line, a non-singing role

- Martha Watson - a winning, appealing, character-comedienne

- Susan Waverly - 9 years old, singing and dancing role

In addition to these principal roles, there are many additional characters to be cast, along with a very large and diverse ensemble.

There is a role to fit many talents and for a wide range of ages.

About White Christmas

After World War II, song and dance men Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, form a successful partnership eventually becoming top Broadway producers.

Bob agrees to take in a nightclub act by the Haynes sisters, Betty and Judy.

Phil has always been trying to get Bob interested in a girl, usually one in the show but when he realizes that Bob is smitten with Betty, he arranges to accompany them to their show at a small Vermont Inn.

A comical and compelling series of misadventures and misunderstandings follow.
