The Algoma Conservatory of Music hosted classical trio Time For Three Saturday night at the Machine Shop.

The quirky, entertaining and very funny string ensemble delighted the crowd of 400 with their renditions and mashups of both classical and contemporary compositions.

For 15 years, Nick Kendall (violin), Zachary DePue (violin), and Ranaan Meyer (bass) have toured the globe performing in such prestigious concert venues as Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House and Yoshi’s Jazz Club, and have been featured on CNN and in the Huffington Post.

It was recently announced that DePue will depart the trio in order to pursue his career as the concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and will be replaced by violinist Nikki Chooi.

“In many ways, Nikki is cut from the same musical fabric as the three of us,” reads a statement on the Time For Three website. “Having graduated from the same alma mater, Nikki has the valued mega-pack of distinctive qualities and abilities which are behind what fuel TF3’s uniqueness. And we are incredibly humbled to accept Nikki into our creative sandbox, to join Ranaan and Nick in this new and exciting chapter of the band's life, and to embark on a new journey.”
