Launch My Father and the Hunter, The Video Game!

TORONTO - It’s been a whirlwind year for Lindsay-bred, Toronto-based The Strumbellas since the February release of their debut album, My Father and The Hunter, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down!

With their first ever Western Canada tour under their belts earlier this year and a bushel full of festivals this summer, the band is locked and loaded, ready to get back on the road and get their fans up on their feet!

The band join Cape Breton’s Tom Fun Orchestra for shows that will start November 1 in Montreal and make their way through Ontario, then over to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC, and back again (details below).

Sidle on up for a go at My Father And The Hunter, The Video Game!

He’s not just handsome and talented at tickling the ivories, Strumbellas’ very own Dave Ritter designed and created this shoot ‘em up (you get to pick - will Izzy’s violin be your weapon? Will Darryl’s bass axe save you?) game.

Scored by the band’s drummer Jeremy Drury, the game is set to an 8-bit soundtrack of songs from My Father And The Hunter. 

Make your way through the game’s landscape, drawn by the group’s own violinist Izzy, as The Strumbellas travel from their hometown of Lindsay, through the deserts of Ontario, to the big city of Toronto where they are scheduled to jam out.

Players get to choose the Strumbella of their liking to battle sheriffs, birds, devils, and other characters from the band’s debut album, while collecting rhinestone jackets, windsurfers and pistols, in this retro game designed, scored, and programmed by the members themselves.
