Two years after its closure in Sault Ste. Marie, it looks like there is a chance for a local Boston Pizza location once again.

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce has notified members that the restaurant chain is "excited to announce continued growth with a specific focus on Sault Ste. Marie." On Boston Pizza's website, Sault Ste. Marie is listed as a featured location for franchising opportunities, alongside Boucherville, Qc., Revelstoke, BC, and Stonewall, Ma.

Boston Pizza first opened in the Sault at 601 Great Northern Road in December 2007, making it the 290th site in Canada at the time.

The casual dining restaurant, which boasts more than 55 years in business, closed its Sault location in 2018 when the previous franchisee chose not to renew their contract.

The 601 Great Northern Road site is now a Chuck's Roadhouse.

The chamber says they have several "exciting real estate site options" for potential franchisees to choose from.
