Sorry, movie lovers. There will be no free movies in Bellevue Park this summer.

Shadows of the Mind Film Festival made the announced on Facebook today that the Summer Shadows Film series would be cancelled, citing COVID-19 concerns.

The annual event usually runs three Wednesdays in August, drawing in families for an evening under the stars.

The post reads as follows,

It is with great regret that we must announce this year’s Summer Shadows series has officially been cancelled.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be holding our free movies in Bellevue park this August. We remain cautiously hopeful for our 22nd winter edition in late February 2021, and we hope to see you next August for Summer Shadows.

Back in April, the Shadows of the Mind organizers were hopeful they would be able to host the August series.
