Sault Area Hospital Foundation

About Us

For over 50 years, Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) and its predecessors have inspired community support for our Hospital.  Funds raised by SAHF are used to purchase medical equipment, helping Sault Area Hospital provide the best possible healthcare for every person in Algoma.

The Sault Area Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization with the purpose of purchasing essential medical equipment for Sault Ste. Marie's community hospital. Throughout our history, the Foundation has received donations through a variety of activities including our annual direct mail appeals, tribute gifts and other events such as the 5-Car Draw, golf tournaments, and Chilifest.

We know that having a hospital that is properly equipped is crucial in attracting and retaining specialized healthcare professionals. The work of the foundation is never done - each year, there is a need for new equipment, education, and information technology. As the only source of funding to fulfill these needs at our hospital, the Sault Area Hospital Foundation plays a fundamental role in the capabilities of our local hospital.

The Sault Area Hospital Foundation is proud to support over 1900 dedicated employees, over 400 volunteers, and approximately 125 physicians on staff. Along with our capable team of medical professionals, the hospital includes a comprehensive cancer treatment program includes chemotherapy, biotherapy, full supportive care, and radiation therapy via the Algoma District Cancer Program.
