Public Library suspends programming, clubs, events

SAULT STE. MARIE PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is taking precautionary measures to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus. To this end, the following library services have been suspended until further notice:
    •    Library programming, clubs and events
    •    The Digital Creator Lab (located at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library)
    •    Interlibrary loans (loans from other libraries in Ontario)
    •    Visiting Library Service (for homebound residents)
    •    The Science North Think Hub (located at the North Branch)
    •    Room rentals

At this time lending services, computers and internet access will remain available to the public. The Library is currently maintaining its scheduled operating hours.

If you are unwell, we ask that you do not visit the library or return your books for a two week period. During the suspension of library services no fines will be incurred by library patrons.

Ontario’s public libraries are actively monitoring the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Public libraries are working closely with local municipalities, public health authorities and Ontario’s library services agencies to make timely, responsible decisions about programming, services and access.
