Starting tomorrow, visitors to Sault Area Hospital (SAH) won't be able to come in wearing homemade masks.

SAH has posted on their Facebook page that effective Nov. 12, all members of the public will be required to wear a surgical/procedural mask supplied by the hospital upon entry to the hospital.

This marks a change from the previous policy which required visitors to wear a mask or face covering that covers both the nose and the mouth, but did not have to be a surgical mask.

Visiting resumed at SAH on July 2 with COVID-19 protocols and screening processes in place.

To date, one case of COVID-19 has been hospitalized at SAH and one health care worker linked to the hospital has tested positive with the virus.
