The City of Sault Ste. Marie is supporting local businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic by creating the Sault Together website (www.saulttogether.ca) to profile businesses that remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The city worked with the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre to create the website.

The city is asking businesses to complete a simple online form, which will allow city officials to add them to the directory. The form provides an opportunity for businesses to identify how citizens can help their business during this time and the services offered.

“We recognize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been significant, and the city is continuing to work with the federal and provincial governments to find ways to help our local businesses manage through a difficult and stressful period. The web directory enables us to better respond to the evolving challenges with support from our partners in government, business and the non-profit sector. I encourage businesses to visit the website, and register for the directory,” said Mayor Provenzano.

“The directory provides an opportunity for local businesses to profile their services and indicate how customers can support them during COVID-19 restrictions. It will serve as another channel for local businesses to raise their profile and generate business. The site will also be used as a platform for the future to inventory and serve business and economic development needs post-pandemic,” said Tom Vair, Deputy CAO, Community Development and Enterprise Services.

Additional resources to local businesses are provided through:

  • a business phone hotline 705-574-1230
  • an email address [email protected], and;
  • a list of resources on the City’s website that identifies different levels of government and organizations that provide relief programs. This page is updated regularly as information becomes available. www.saultstemarie.ca/covid19businesses.
