Healthcare workers will have an easier time shopping at most Loblaws stores during the pandemic.
The company announced yesterday that upon showing healthcare ID, those workers will get to skip lineups to enter most stores.
At Shoppers Drug Mart, they will receive priority at the pharmacy counter, as well as checking out.
“They spend long and stressful shifts supporting directly impacted individuals, and often don’t know when exactly they will be working from week to week,” said Executive Chair Galen Weston in a note to PC Optimum customers. “This uncertainty makes shopping for their own essentials very hard.”
Other stores included under the Loblaws umbrella are Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills and Your Independent Grocer.
