People who attended a New Year's Eve party on Sage Road in Garden River are being asked to stay home and self-isolate.

Without the homeowner's knowledge, a gathering was held at 66 Sage Street and people who attended the party have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 and are at high risk.

Algoma Public Health (APH) is asking those people to stay home from work, school, shopping and social activities, not using public transportation and avoiding contact with others.

They are also being asked to call APH at 705-759-5404 or 1-866-892-0172 ext. 5404 (if no one answers, please leave a voicemail and we will return your phone call).

Because contact information isn't available for everyone who attended the party, APH felt the need to advise the public of this exposure.

"It is imperative that anyone who attended this gathering follow public health guidance to prevent further spread of the virus," said a release issued by APH.
