NEWS RELEASE
GROUP HEALTH CENTRE TRUST FUND

The Group Health Centre Trust Fund appreciates the support it has received from the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as the Group Health Centre focuses its operations on essential services, the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), for both staff and patients, has increased due to the strict protocols in place. To facilitate community generosity, and aid in the purchase of PPE, they have launched the COVID-19 Care Support Fund.

PPE like masks, gloves, face shields, and gowns play an essential role in protecting both staff and patients from contracting the COVID-19 virus. As seen on the news, PPE is becoming very expensive and difficult to acquire - the COVID-19 Care Support Fund will ensure that the Group Health Centre has enough PPE readily available at all times, to anyone that requires it.

“We would like to take this opportunity to also remind our community of the other worthy charities in Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma. When considering how best to support your community during this crisis, please also remember your local food bank, homeless shelter, or other organization in need”, said Logan Kennedy, Trust Fund Coordinator.
