Algoma Public Health is reporting one new COVID-19 case in the Algoma region.

The new case is in the Sault Ste. Marie area and brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the region to 201 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Tested on March 10, the individual is in the exposure category of close contact, which means the person had close contact with a known confirmed case.

The person is currently self-isolating.

Algoma regions with reported COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days include:

  • Central and east Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
