The Sault Ste. Marie Musuem dug these photos out of its archive to demonstrate how people spent their leisure time a century or so ago.

The in 1800s before inside arenas where thought of, people still enjoy recreation in the winter.

They skated on the river (pictured above) and tobogganed in the slide on Pine St. (as seen left) and another located on Bruce St.
