NNEC is a non-profit educational organization. Under the direction of the Sioux Lookout District Chiefs, NNEC delivers secondary and post-secondary education programs and services for First Nations people. NNEC operates Pelican Falls First Nations High School, Pelican Falls Centre, Pelican Falls Wellness Centre, Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School, Wahsa Distance Education Centre and has offices in Lac Seul (head office), Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay. NNEC welcomes applications for the following positions:

NNEC RECEPTIONIST
Sioux Lookout, Ontario

The Receptionist provides secretarial and clerical support to the staff of the NNEC Administration Office. Services include, but are not limited to, reception, secretarial and record keeping duties. The Receptionist must function in a computerized environment and must be able to operate the switchboard with competence and professionalism. Must be able to operate voicemail, transcribe messages, answer electronic mail, and operate all office equipment and systems.
FINANCE OFFICER
Sioux Lookout, Ontario

The Finance Department provides payroll, accounts payable, collection, cash management and financial planning services for NNEC's programs and projects under the direction of the Financial Controller. The Finance Officer will be responsible for reconciliation of General Ledger accounts including the bank accounts, monitoring of cash flow, maintaining computerized general ledger and entering general journal entries.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER,
Sioux Lookout, Ontario

Under the authority and general direction of the Executive Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for managing and coordinating an effective financial management system and its activities, including but not limited to supervision of financial staff, management of the financial data systems, financial reporting, budgeting and cash management systems.
The Financial Controller ensures that senior management and the NNEC Board of Directors have current and accurate financial information upon which to make their decisions. Ongoing liaison with Indigenous Services Canada and other funders, and timely and accurate submission of all reporting requirements, is expected.

WAHSA TEACHING STAFF,
Sioux Lookout, Ontario
1.0 Math, 1.0 Science and 1.0 Native Language Teacher

Wahsa Distance Education Centre is operated by the Northern Nishnawbe Education Council under the direction of District Area Chiefs and First Nation communities. Wahsa provides secondary education services to northern communities across the Sioux Lookout District by SMARTBoard/Bridget software and Independent Learning courses. Wahsa develops, delivers, and co-ordinates courses, training and support services in consultation with participating First Nations. Students receive instruction, instructional packages, tutoring, and academic and personal counseling through local and central support systems.

EDUCATION COUNSELLOR
WAHSA, Sioux Lookout, Ontario

The Education Counsellor provides education counselling to Wahsa students and supports teachers endeavouring to provide meaningful programming. Counsellors must be self-motivated professionals with excellent interpersonal and communications skills; a counsellor must work both independently and in a team. PFFNHS TEACHING STAFF
Pelican Falls First Nations High School

Pelican Falls First Nations High School is a private school operated by the Northern Nishnawbe Education Council under the direction of the Sioux Lookout Area Chiefs. Pelican Falls First Nations High School is a unique facility that is located on Pelican Lake in the traditional territory of Lac Seul First Nation and within the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Special consideration given to candidates with Intermediate/Senior; English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Technology qualification and/or experience, but not required.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT OFFICER
Pelican Falls First Nations High School,
Sioux Lookout, ON

The Student Achievement Officer will Provide expertise, leadership and support to improve student literacy and numeracy achievement by designing, developing and implementing Student Achievement Division initiatives (e.g. OFP, SIM, SEF, SWST, FNMI-CI, CIL-M etc.). This position will work cooperatively with partners to build and provide information and clarification regarding Ministry of Education policies, programs, research, resources and strategies. The applicant must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; have teaching and leadership experience in Ontario or First Nations Secondary school and board setting; have a deep understanding of content knowledge for teaching mathematics and have facilitated math-focused professional learning opportunities. ATHLETIC COORDINATOR
Pelican Falls First Nations High School

The Athletic Coordinator provides leadership and support to the students and staff of Pelican Falls First Nations High School in the area of NorWossa athletics as well as daily extracurricular activities. Services include but are not limited to coaching NorWossa school teams, managing a NorWossa budget, and providing recreational activities for students. The Athletic Coordinator must be a self-motivated professional with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. An Athletic Coordinator must work both independently and as a team member and must be sensitive to First Nations culture and traditions. The Athletic Coordinator will work 35 hours per week. These hours will be flexible at times to allow for later or earlier starts/finishes to accommodate for after school sports, lunch hour activities and at times sports travel through weekends.


CRISIS RESPONSE WORKERS
Pelican Falls Wellness Centre (PFWC)
Sioux Lookout, Ontario

The Crisis Response Worker(s) will provide crisis response services to the students and staff on site at Pelican Falls First Nations High School. The Crisis Response Worker will offer an efficient and helpful service to students, staff and external organizations requesting information or advice and to be proactive in processing these enquiries through to resolution where practicable. The Crisis Response Worker will have an understanding and sensitivity to First Nations culture and traditions. This position will have a modified work schedule through the school calendar, salary will be prorated over the full year (26 pay periods). This position will have 12 hour shifts and will be on a rotation of 4 shifts on/4 shifts off and will follow the school calendar.

STUDENT WELL-BEING WORKERS
Pelican Falls Wellness Centre (PFWC),
Sioux Lookout, ON

The Student Well-Being Workers interact closely with students to identify mental and/or emotional concerns that students face and work alongside them through those challenges. This position will be scheduled to work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday during the school year (subject to change). The salary is prorated through the year (26 pay-periods) and the days of work will follow the school calendar.

MULTI-PURPOSE WORKER
Pelican Falls Centre (PFC)
Sioux Lookout, Ontario

The Multi-Purpose Worker assists the Team Leader(s) and House Parents to provide support counselling to students attending Pelican Falls First Nations High School. The Multi-Purpose Worker will provide guidance/support, counselling, advice, transportation and referrals to outside counselling agencies for both students and staff at PFC. The Multi-Purpose Worker will also assist House Parents by providing on-call relief. Multi-Purpose Worker must be flexible to adapt to varying responsibilities, students and staff. This position will have a modified work schedule (4 shifts on and 4 shifts off) through the school calendar, salary will be prorated over the full year (26 pay periods).

WELL-BEING WORKERS

The Well-Being Workers will interact closely with students to identify mental and/or emotional concerns that students face and work alongside them through those challenges. This position will follow the shift work schedule of the House Parents and will be 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off. COMMUNICATION BI-LINGUAL COORDINATOR,

As NNEC students are required to attend schools far from the comfort of their own communities, it is crucial that we have a staff member who is committed to ensuring students are regularly connecting with their families, friends and communities. It is also crucial that NNEC have a liaison to connect with communities to showcase our programs and services to parents, community members and future students through a variety of communicative mediums. Parents continue to request continuous improvements in communication all avenues for student supports, programs, and services provided by NNEC.
