Hours: 3-5 days per week depending on availability.
A typical work day is 9:00am - 5:30pm, with paid hours starting when picked up at the White Fish Falls or Birch Island marina by boat and ending when returned. Hours are reasonably flexible to accommodate your preferred schedule. The objective is to maintain at least 8 hour days.
Compensation: $20.00 per hr, plus travel cost and parking allowance, terms negotiable
Description: Professional couple looking for a caring, responsible and imaginative care for our two children — a 15-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy — at our cottage.
We are looking for daytime support to entertain and stimulate our children while we work from the cottage. We are on a small private island with full ammenties including water craft, motorized and paddle. You must love Canadian cottage life (and children) to take this summer job. You must be able to swim well.
Most days will include lounging by the water on the dock with the children while the parents go to work. Day trips are encouraged which could include visiting beaches, picnic on other islands, and other local adventures.
Responsibilities: Playing with the children and taking them swimming
Preparing meals and snacks for the children
Keeping the cottage tidy and helping with some of the children's laundry
Position requires independent transportation to the marina.
Ability to drive a small or large engine motor boat with Boat Smart certification is desired but not necessary.
