'The Sault Belongs to You' Annual Immigration Forum set to take place

The Immigration Forum will be held on Feb. 21 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Gardens North Banquet Hall.

The Sault Ste. Marie Local Immigration Partnership will host its annual Immigration Forum on February 21, 2018 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Gardens North Banquet Hall.

The Immigration Forum brings together representatives from all sectors including newcomers and the general public, to create awareness of cultural diversity and racial harmony, learn about new or enhanced programs and services, discuss community progress and hear about newcomer experiences with moving to Sault Ste. Marie.

Presentations at the Immigration Forum will include:
  • Keynote Speaker Asima Vezina, President of Algoma University
  • Algoma's Labour Market Overview - Matt Lance of The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation
  • Cultural performances by Syrian Drummer George Al Khoury. Ryan McFarland Magic, and the Algoma Festival Choir
Participants at the event will also have an opportunity to meet with local service providers and cultural clubs and receive information about what they offer and how to can get involved.
