The City of Sault Ste. Marie reminds residents of schedule changes for the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, October 14.
The following facilities and services will be closed October 14:
- Cemetery office
- Public Libraries – James L. McIntyre Centennial and Korah Branch Library
- City Landfill site and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
- Civic Centre
- Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site
- GFL Memorial Gardens (administrative office, Box Office and arena)
- John Rhodes Community Centre arena and McMeeken Centre arena
- Northern Community Centre
- Public Works & Engineering Services office (For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-520)
- Sault Transit service will not operate. Main office is closed.
- Seniors Drop In Centre and the Northern Community Centre and Seniors 55+
Garbage, Recycling and Leaf & Yard Waste:
- No collection of garbage, recycling and leaf and yard waste on Monday, October 14.
- Collection for garbage, recycling and leaf and yard waste will be one day late for the balance of the week.
- The City landfill is closed on this day and open the remainder of the week (Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
The following facilities and services will operate October 14:
- Bellevue Marina will be open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and will then close for the season.
- The Sault Ste. Marie Parks Canada Lock will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. until October 15 and will then close for the season.
- John Rhodes Community Centre Pool: open 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. for parent/child/lane swim and 1– 3 p.m. for public swim
