Each year on April 28 the City of Sault Ste. Marie commemorates the National Day of Mourning and renews our commitment to worker health, safety and well-being.

On this day, we honour workers in Canada who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents. We also remember the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.

To commemorate those lives lost or injured, flags at all City facilities will be flown at half-mast on Saturday, April 28.
