Fire Services General Safety Message to the Community

Due to recent weather conditions Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services is encouraging all citizens to take precautions, especially while driving.

It is recommended that you stay off roadways at this time due to the high volume of rainfall. Only drive if it is absolutely necessary.

Roadways are flooding and there is a potential for washouts. The following is a list of areas to avoid due to road closures and impassable roadways: Carmen's Way, The Underpass, and the St. George's Avenue area.

Residents are reminded to not drive on roadways that are underwater, as the roadways may be unstable and dangerous.

Roadways will continue to be monitored and updates will be provided as required.
