Roberta Bondar Park is host to several cruise ship visits  throughout the summer and early fall season.

The ships that arrive will be bringing approximately 5000 visitors combined to Sault Ste. Marie this season. The ship visits vary from early morning arrival and late evening departures depending on the direction that the vessel will be travelling.

Prior to a ship’s visit and until departure, Transport Canada outlines security regulations that, as a port facility, the City must adhere to. These regulations require fencing be put up along the waterfront portion of the Hub Trail in front of the Roberta Bondar Pavilion, in order to secure this area from the public.  Signage is also in place denoting the restricted area.  An alternate route for the public is to walk under the Roberta Bondar Pavilion which connects to the Hub Trail on both sides.

Ship visits are: June 8, 12, 15, 30 (two ships), July 7, 18, 22, 29 August 5, 13, 20, 23, 27, September
3, 10, 20, 28, October 8 and 16.

The public is encouraged to visit the Roberta Bondar Park to view the ships however, are asked to be respectful of the regulations.
