City and St. Mary's River Marine Heritage Board update

The City of Sault Ste. Marie and the St. Mary's River Marine Heritage Centre Board (SMRMHC) have reached a mutual understanding. The M.S. Norgoma has been conveyed back to the City.

Artifacts and displays will remain with the SMRMHC for exhibits in Sault Ste. Marie and other communities visited by the Norgoma. The fixtures on the boat will remain with the M.S. Norgoma. 

The City has posted the availability of the vessel publicly to determine if parties are interested in acquiring it. City staff will be returning to Council with a report regarding the results of the public notice of the availability of the vessel.
