The City of Sault Ste. Marie is committed to making the election process more accessible for all voters and is pleased to provide a Voting from Home option for the 2018 Municipal Election. If there are barriers preventing you from voting at an Advance Vote day or on Voting Day (Monday, October 22, 2018), you may apply for a home visit to cast your ballot.

Voting from Home allows the elector to cast their ballot from their residence. With the home voting option, an election team member will visit your residence to provide a ballot. The ballot is marked in the same way as if it were at a regular poll. An envelope system is in place to protect the secrecy of the vote. The ballot will be placed in a sealed ballot box to be counted after the polls close on Voting Day.

A Voting from Home application form can be completed online at saultstemarie.ca/votefromhome, by visiting the City Clerk's Office or by calling 705-759-5388. Once the application has been reviewed and accepted, a member of the elections team will contact the voter to schedule a home visit. Applications will be accepted until Thursday, October 11 at 4:30 p.m. Home voting will occur October 15 to October 19.
