Youth arrested for pointing a firearm

On May 23, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old male for pointing a firearm. 

It’s alleged on May 22, 2019 the accused was in the 200-block of Bay Street when he pulled a firearm out of his waistband, pointed it at the victim and shot him several times in the head then fled the area. 

Police located the accused in the early morning hours of May 23, 2019. He was found to be in possession of a BB gun and was taken into custody. 

Officers searched the accused at the time of the arrest and found him to be in possession of varying amounts of what is believed to be methamphetamine and Xanax. He is charged with one count of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. 

He was held for bail court.
