Sault Ste. Marie Police say they've arrested someone for impaired driving after an incident that took place over the weekend.

In a news release sent out today, police say they responded to a call around 8:11 a.m. yesterday morning regarding a disturbance in the 100 block of James Street.

Upon arrival, officers say they saw a woman in the driver’s seat of an SUV with the engine running. When they approached the vehicle, the woman identified herself as the accused and officers say they smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle and the accused.

After determining that her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol, she was arrested. She later failed two breathlyzer tests.

As a result, Rebecca Tegosh, 34, was arrested and charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs and impaired driving blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

She is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7.
