Two Domestic Related Arrests Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females at 1:30 am on the 28th of September when they attended at a domestic disturbance call at a downtown residence.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females at 1:30 am on the 28th of September when they attended at a domestic disturbance call at a downtown residence. The complainant called police after his 33 year-old ex-girlfriend and another 37 year-old female attended at his residence and caused damaged to a number of his household items. The ex-girlfriend also punched the victim in the face, causing some injuries to him.

At the time she was on a recognizance order with conditions that she not molest, harass or annoy the victim and she was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

She has been charged with one count of mischief, one count of assault and two counts of breach of a release document. The second female was charged with on count of mischief and one count of breach of a release document as she was also on an undertaking to keep the peace and be good. They are both to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 44 year-old male on the 27th of September at 1:20 pm on an outstanding warrant and charged him with three counts of breach of a release document.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a domestic related incident that occurred on the 25th of September when he attended at his ex-girlfriend’s residence just before 10 pm. The accused was banging on the door, yelling at her and calling her derogatory names.

At the time he was is on a recognizance order with conditions to remain 500 meters away from the victim’s residence and was not to molest, harass, or annoy her, or have any communication with her. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Theft

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18 year-old male on the 27th of September at 9:35 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of theft and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that between the 20th -27th of September the accused stole $270 from his mother's purse. At the time he was on a youth probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Sydney Benwell of 246 Anderson Road Goulais River on the 27th of September at 4:15 pm at the police station on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of fail to appear court. It is alleged that on the 20th of June the accused failed to attend for prints and on the 4th of July he failed to appear court in relation to a shoplifting charge. The accused is now to appear in court on the 31st of October.

Mischief Complaint

There was a compliant of graffiti mischief to the walls of the new Community Centre under construction on Goulais Avenue.
