Accused persons arrested in 25th September Drug Warrant at 142 Albert Street East (upstairs) identified

At approximately 6:00 on the 25th of September officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Emergency Services Unit and the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which is comprised of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service, the OPP Drug Enforcement Section, the RCMP and the OPP North East Region, executed a search warrant at a residence at 142 Albert Street East –Upstairs Apt. During the course of the search, officers located digital scales, cash, drug paraphernalia, several cellular phones, packaging materials and various drugs – approximately 4.6 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of cannabis resin, 46.3 grams of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), and some morphine, codeine, and oxycodone tablets. Officers also located unsafely stored shot gun ammunition. The approximate street value of the drugs seized was $2,000.00.

Police have concluded their investigation and the following seven persons have been charged:

1) 20 year-old Michael Hodgson of 27 Nebenaigoching Street has been charged with seven counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of careless storage of ammunition, and one count of possession of ammunition while prohibited. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.

2) 31 year-old Heidi Debassige of no fixed address has been charged with seven counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of production of a controlled drug or substance and one count of careless storage of ammunition. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

3) 56 year-old Harold Smith of 142 Albert Street East (downstairs) has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in court on the 29th of October.

4) 32 year-old Bobbi-Lynn St. Jules of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

5) 25 year-old Wayne Barry of Box 22-RR2 Thessalon, Ontario has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in court on the 29th of October.

6) 18 year-old Jessica Desmond of no fixed address was located at the residence, arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with one count of fail to appear court, one count of fail to appear for prints, one count of breach of a release document. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

7) 36 year-old Jason Boyer of #2-142 Albert Street East has been charged with seven count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, one count of careless storage of ammunition, and one count of possession of ammunition while prohibited, one count of fail to appear court and one count of breach of a release document. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

The following two persons will also be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 25th of September at 9:20 pm at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of resist or obstruct peace officer. It is alleged that on the 25th of September the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend at their residence by grabbing at her and punching her. The victim did not receive any injuries. When the accused was being arrested he pushed and attempted to pull away from them. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) 48 year-old Cora McFadden of #1-483 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 25th of September at 4:25 pm at her residence and charged with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 25th of September at around 4:20 pm the police were called to a disturbance at her apartment and when officers attended they discovered the accused had some friends over and found her to be intoxicated. The accused was on probation conditions not to consume any alcohol. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

UPDATE: Break & Enters on Prentice

Officers from Investigation Services have concluded their investigation into the garage break and enters over the weekend on Prentice Avenue and have arrested the other two male youths that were involved:

A 16 year-old male youth has been arrested in connection to the break and enters reported over the weekend on Prentice Avenue. The youth was arrested at 7:25 pm at the City Police Station and has been charged with two counts of break, enter and commit and one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 23rd of September between the hours of 1:30 and 4 am the accused, along with two other male youths that cannot be named at this time, broke into two garages on Prentice Avenue and stole two snowbirds, two pair of snow board boots, a pair of hockey gloves, four speakers, a computer tower and a mountain bike. Total amount of items that were stone was $1300.00. All the property was recovered by city police. The accused is to appear in court on the 23rd of October.

The two other males charged are a 15 and 17 year old. They were both arrested at the city police station just after 6 pm and also charged with two counts of break and enter and one count of mischief under $5000.00. It is further alleged that the three youths, after breaking into the garages also cut the phone lines of a third garage and threw several items around the backyard of the residence. They are to both appear in court on the 23rd of October.
