Two Males Arrested For Break and Enter to Garage on Wellington Street West:

On the 17th of September at 12:41 am city police were called to a break and enter in progress to a garage on Wellington Street West in the area of Edinburgh Street. A witness reported seeing a sensor light go on at the residence and observed two males running westbound on Edinburgh Street carrying a crow bar and boxes. Their description was provided to police. The Canine Unit attended and a track commenced. The two males were located a short time later, hiding in some bushes on Cathcart Street. Several boxes of tools were found at their feet, as well as one of the males was holding a larger box with an orbital polisher inside. This male dropped the box and attempted to run from police again but was again was quickly apprehend a short distance away by the Canine Unit.
As a result, 25 year-old Wayne Sinobert-Briscoe of 506 #2 Sherbourne Street and 26 year-old Darrell Saunders of 227 Alexandra Street were arrested and charged with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of trespassing at night. Saunders was further charged with one count of breach of probation as at the time he was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Both are to appear in bail court this morning.

Youth Arrested

A 13 year-old male youth was arrested on the 16th of September at 9:54 pm at a local Youth Home and charged with one count of break, enter and commit. It is alleged that the youth, a resident of the home, broke into another resident’s room and stole some items. He is to appear in court on the 14th of October.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enters:

• A residence on Laura Street was entered sometime between the 12th and 16th of September. It is not known at this time what was taken.
• A garage in the 100 block of Boundary Road was entered on Friday the 12th of September. A snow blower was reported stolen.

Mischief

One mischief report was taken – A vehicle in the 200 block of Sussex Road was spray painted sometime overnight on the 16th-17th of September.
