ACCUSED RETRIEVED FROM WINNIPEG
A 27-year-old male will be appearing in bail court today after being arrested on outstanding warrants for a number of offences.

Yesterday, members from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service went to Winnipeg, Manitoba, arrested the male on the warrants and returned him to the Sault where he will appear in court today. A number of the offences relate to a domestic situation with an ex-girlfriend.

He has been charged with 6 counts of assault, 2 counts of forcible confinement, 5 counts of breaching release documents, one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit, one count of committing sexual assault while using a firearm, 2 counts of sexual assault and one count of failing to appear in court. The accused cannot be identified as it would likely identify the victim as well.


ARGUMENT GETS OUT OF HAND
A 36-year-old male will also appear in bail court this morning on domestic-related matters. It is alleged that on the 11th of September, the accused got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend on the phone and then went to her house where he kicked in the door.

When the victim went to call the police on her cell phone, the accused took the phone and threw it away. The victim was able to get out of the house and ran next door to her neighbours who called the police.

The accused left the scene, but not before he kicked the victim’s car a couple of times. He turned himself into the police last night and has been charged with one count of unlawfully being in a dwelling house and one count of mischief.


ANNOYING HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND
Another male will be in bail court today also on domestic related matters. At around 4:00 this morning city police were called to an address in the central area of town after the ex-girlfriend of the 21-year-old accused called police to report he was hanging around her address.

The male was on probation with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim, in addition to being on a release document with a curfew and also conditions to stay away from the victim’s address.

When officers went to arrest the accused he resisted but was eventually taken into custody. He has been charged with 2 counts of breaching a release document; one count of breach of probation and one count of resist arrest.


STOREY FURNITURE CASE PROGRESSES
Yesterday afternoon officers from the Investigation Services Section arrested and charged 24-year old Scott Dunseath of 242 Beverly Street with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Dunseath was arrested for having a refrigerator trolley that had been taken from a break and enter that was reported earlier this week at Storey Furniture. Officers are continuing to work on the investigation. Mr. Dunseath will appear in court on October 25th.


BREAK & ENTER
Yesterday police were called to a home in the 100 block of Farquhar Street and took a report of a break and enter. A number of electronic items were taken including a Panasonic VCR, a DVD player and a Technic amplifier. A small quantity of jewellery was also taken.


SUBWAY STORE BREAK-IN
Shortly after 3:00 this morning city police officers were dispatched to the Subway Store on Great Northern Road for a report of glass breaking. Officers discovered that the store had been broken into, however it does appear that anything is missing.

There are 2 suspects in this matter. One is a female, small in build, wearing a dark hooded sweater and the other suspect is a male wearing a 2 tone blue parka with reflectors on the arm area and beige pants. Police ask your assistance. If you have information, please phone.
