The following two persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) 47 year-old Ronald Lecuyer of 312 Beverley Street was arrested on the 11th of September at 7:50 pm on Chapple Street and charged with three counts of breach of probation and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that city police checked the accused on Chapple Street at 7:50 pm last evening and at the time the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The check revealed that the accused was on probation with conditions not to consume any alcohol and to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is further alleged that when officers searched the accused he was found to be in possession of approximately 7.5 grams of hash oil.

2) A 15 year-old male youth was arrested on the 11th of September at 8:20 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 11th of September the accused was at the Station Mall when he got into an argument with another male youth known to him and assaulted the male by pushing and punching him in the face several times. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

Theft Under $5,000

34 year-old Shawn Holder of #3-222 Albert Street East was arrested at his residence on the 11th of September just before 9 am and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused attended at R J’s Market on Wellington Street East around 5:35 pm on the 11th of August and stole six packages lunch meat valued at approximately $28.00. The accused left the store and attempted to flee on a bicycle. A store employee attempted to stop the male and a struggle ensued. The employee was able to retrieve the bag of meat but the accused ran away on foot. The accused was captured on store video at the time of the theft and a witness that knew the accused was able to identify him. Police attempted to locate the accused at the time but were unsuccessful. The employee was not injured. The accused is to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Youth Charged with Fail To Appear

On the 11th of September at 6:38 pm a 14 year-old male youth was arrested at the city police station after turning himself in. The accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear for fingerprints from the 31stst of August and as well it was discovered that the accused did not attend court that he was scheduled for on the morning on the 11th of September. He has been charged with one count of fail to attend court and one count of fail to attend for fingerprints. He is to appear in court on the 16th of October.

Break & Enter

There was a break and enter reported to a residence on Carufel Avenue. The residence was entered sometime on the 11th of September. Approximately 60 DVD’S were stolen.

Two Car Accidents

1) City Police were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Northern Avenue at North Street yesterday afternoon around 12:05 pm that resulted in two persons being transported to hospital by ambulance. It is alleged that 27 year-old Heather Lambert was driving a 1995 Plymouth Neon eastbound on Northern Avenue when she failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of North Street. Her vehicle struck a 2000 Mazda Van that was travelling southbound on North Street that was being driven by a 48 year-old female. The driver of the Plymouth and her 27 year-old female passenger were transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. There were 3 occupants in the van that was struck and no injuries were reported to them at the time. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
Heather Lambert of 112 Crawford Avenue has been charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act.

2) City Police attended to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Churchill Boulevard yesterday afternoon at 12:08 pm. It is alleged that 25-year-old Kristan Chaimbrone was driving her 2003 Toyota vehicle westbound on Wellington Street East when she failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Churchill Boulevard. Her vehicle struck a 2006 Honda vehicle that was travelling northbound on Churchill Boulevard that was being operated by a 24 year-old female. The driver of the Honda was transpoerted to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were severely damaged. Kritan Chaimbrone of 100 Bishops Court has been charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act.

Car/Bicycle Accident

City police attended at an accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle yesterday morning just before 10:00 am on Second Line East. A 1997 Ford pick up that was being operated by a 69 year-old male was exiting in a northbound direction from the lot at #465 Second Line East when it collided with a bicycle that was travelling westbound on the sidewalk. The cyclist, 25 year-old Bradley Stephen of 20 Terrance Avenue was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and has been charged with person over 10 years of age - operate bicycle on sidewalk under the City of Sault Ste. Marie Bylaw.
