Investigation Services Lay Charges In Connection to Suspicious Fire at Korah Collegiate:

A 15 year-old male youth and a 15 year-old female were both arrested at Korah Collegiate High School on the 9th of September at 10:50 am and charged each with one count of arson in relation to the fire that occurred on the 8th of September at 10:01 am. It is alleged that the two accused, both students of the school, set fire to a locker on the basement floor. Football equipment inside the locker was destroyed as well as two other lockers received damage and a small portion of the above wall.

The male youth was also charged with one count of fail to appear court on an outstanding warrant. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
The female is to appear in court on the 14th of October.

Two Youths Charged After Stealing Two Vehicles Yesterday Morning:

Two youths, a 17 year-old male and a 15 year-old female were arrested on the 9th of September just before 9 am on Brock Street. It is alleged that on the 9th of September at approximately 6:30 am the two stole a 1990 Dodge truck from the driveway of a residence on Pine Street. At 7:09 am the male youth lost control of the truck in the area of Shultz Road and Great northern Road resulting in the camper and truck box falling off. A resident in the area, that heard a loud noise just outside his driveway and discovered the abandoned truck, notified police. Police, with assistance of the canine unit, commenced a track in the area. The two suspects then stole an Ellwood Robinson Cube van from a construction area in the 1400 block of Great Northern Road. The construction employees notified city police around 7:30 am that the van had just been stolen. Officers observed the stolen van travelling westbound on Queen Street East near Lake Street and were able to stop it just before 9 am on Brock Street. The two youths were arrested and charged with the following:
The 17 year-old male is charged with one count of theft under $5,0000, one count of theft over $5,000.00, possession of stolen property, operating a vehicle while disqualified and one count of breach of probation. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

The 15 year-old female is charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of theft over $5,000.00 and possession of stolen property. She is to appear in court on the 7th of October.

Two Arrested on Outstanding Warrants to Appear in Bail Court This Morning:

1) 40 year-old Patrice Gregoire of 671 Queen Street East (Back#1) was arrested on the 9th of September at 5:15 pm at the City Police Station on outstanding warrants and charged with two counts of breach of a release order and one count of fail to provide a breath sample.

2) 43 year-old James Bolan of no fixed address was arrested on several outstanding warrants on the 9th of September at 10:25 am on Albert Street West. He was charged with three counts of fail to appear court, one count of breach of recognizance and one count of fail to appear for prints.

Two Males Charged After Execution of Drug Search Warrant:

On the 9th of September at approximately 3:12 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit, the Canine Unit and the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at 31 Manilla Terrace. During the course of the search, officers located four marihuana plants, five – five gram vials of cannabis resin and 8.2 grams of cannabis marihuana. Digital scales, packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia was also seized.

As a result, arrested and charged are:
52 year-old Deborah Emms of 31 Manilla Terrace charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.

47 year-old Bradley Nault of 31 Maniila Terrace charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. They are both to appear in court on the 20th of October.

Property Crimes: Theft Reports

• A light post was reported stolen from a yard of a residence on Moss Road sometime overnight on the 9-10th of September.
• Bikes were reported stolen from Parkland School, Beverley Street and North Street.
• A vehicle was entered in the 600 block of Pine Street and the ownership was stolen.
• Vegetables wee reported stolen from a garden on Sydenham Road.

Mischief Reports:

• A wall on the mall complex at Great Northern Road and Tilley Avenue was spray painted.
• Tomatoes were thrown at a window of a home on Sydenham Road.
