Domestic Related Arrests A 21 year-old male wanted on an outstanding domestic related warrant was arrested by officers by the OPP yesterday morning at his residence and then turned over to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service.

A 21 year-old male wanted on an outstanding domestic related warrant was arrested by officers by the OPP yesterday morning at his residence and then turned over to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service. He has been charged with one count of Threaten Bodily Harm for allegedly calling his ex-girlfriend on the 25th and threatening to harm her. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

A 26 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon at a centrally located residence and charged with one count of Assault and one count of Mischief. It is alleged that he attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend on the 26th of October at approximately 11:50 am, assaulted her and then damaged a necklace that she was wearing. He is to appear in court on the 1st of December

More Arrests Made in Relation to Local Purse Snatching Incidents
Last evening, Investigations Unit Detectives with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two more persons in connection to some of the recent purse snatching incident within our city over the past couple of weeks.

1) 20 year-old Hannah Harvey of #207-441 Queen Street West has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 18th of October Hannah Harvey and the co-accused, Cindy Diamond, attended at Value Village on Northern Avenue and stole a purse from a shopper’s cart. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the two worked together during the crime. One distracted the shopper and the other stole the purse from the shopper’s cart. The accused is to appear in court on the 29th of November.

2) 45 year-old Geoffrey Chamings of 613 Queen Street West (upstairs) has been charged with one count of Theft Under $5,000 , one count of Possession of Stolen Property, one count of Fraud and one count of Utter a Forged Document. It is alleged that on the 22nd of October the accused attended at the Money Mart on Great Northern Road and cashed a stolen cheque. The cheque was in the purse that had been reported stolen from the Sault Ste. Marie Casino just after midnight on the 22nd of October by co-accused Cindy Diamond (released on the 22nd of October 3 pm news). He is to appear in court on the 29th of November.

Female Arrested for Frauds
Last evening, Investigations Unit Detectives with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 52 year-old female and charged her with one count of Fraud and one count of Uttering a Forged Document. The charges are in relation to her reinstating a life insurance policy that her ex-husband had canceled.

Shoplifting Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 39 year-old Heiko Schmitz, of 3G11-379 Lake Street, yesterday morning at Wal Mart and charged him with one count of Theft Under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation for allegedly attending at the store yesterday morning and stealing an HDM media player. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of November.

Property Crimes
Break and Enters
• A residence in the 500 block of Second Line East was entered yesterday morning. A camera was reported taken.
• A residence on Eastwood Avenue yesterday during the day. Two LCD Toshiba flat screen televisions were stolen.

Theft from Vehicle
A side window of a car parked in a business parking lot in the 200 block of McNabb Street was smashed out and a purse left inside was stolen.

Mischief
A citizen called police when observing a male smashing a window out of a van parked at the John Rhodes Community Centre yesterday evening at around 6:32 pm. Officers searched the area with negative results.
