Domestic Related Arrest A 29 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon at a downtown residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000.

A 29 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon at a downtown residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 2nd of November the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend, got into a verbal argument with her and assaulted her. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault. The accused also damaged the victim’s cell phone during the incident.

Male Arrested for Breaching Recognizance Order
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old David Dowding of 203 Greenfield Drive last evening at 11:20 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that around 11 pm last evening officers received a call regarding the accused being intoxicated and throwing things around his home. When officers arrived they found him to be under the influence of alcohol and at the time he was on a recognizance order with conditions not to consume any alcohol.

Break and Enters
• A residence in the 1200 block of Leighs Bay Road was broken into at around 1:35 pm yesterday. A television and laptop were taken.
• An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence in the 200 block of Tilley Road

Theft/Mischief Reports
• A vehicle parked at the Cambrian Mall was broken into last night. A purse left inside was taken.
• A duffle bag was stolen from a vehicle parked at a business parking lot in the 200 block of Great Northern Road.
• A vehicle on Ford Street was entered and a wallet left inside was stolen.
• Two vehicles in the downtown area had licence plates taken.
• An attempt break in to a vehicle was reported on Glasgow Avenue at 3:38 am this morning– a window was smashed and the car alarm was activated - nothing was reported taken.
• A vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of East Street had a window smashed.
