The following three persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 27th of November at 3:50 pm in the city laneway in the area of Albert Street and Hughes Street and charged with one count of possess
The following three persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 27th of November at 3:50 pm in the city laneway in the area of Albert Street and Hughes Street and charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the accused was checked in the laneway by officers from the street team and at the time he was found to be possession of 4.8 grams of marihuana. At the time of the incident the accused was on a recognizance order with conditions to abstain absolutely from the possession of non prescription drugs.

2) 26 year-old Curtis Pheasant of no fixed address was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Gore Street at 3:40 pm and charged with one count of fail to appear court. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear court on the 19th of November on a possession of property obtained by crime charge from August.

3) 31 year-old Richard Gabrylewicz of 142 Albert Street East was arrested at 3:45 pm on the 27th of November at his residence on an outstanding probation and parole warrant for failing to report.

Male Charged with Assault

37 year-old Wayne Amirault of #3-337 Albert Street East was arrested on the 27th of November at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the evening of 23rd of November the accused held a house party at his residence and he got into an argument with a 53 year-old female guest and assaulted her by pushing her and punching her in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of January 2008.

Breach

18 year-old Shane Yukich of 42 Hawthorne Street was arrested on the 28th of November at 3:30 am on Wallace Terrace and charged with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that city police were at a residence on an unrelated matter and the accused was located there and at the time was found to be under the influence of alcohol. When officers ran a check on him they discovered that he was on probation with conditions that he not consume any alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 7th of January 2008.

The following mischief reports were taken yesterday:

1) Christmas lights at a residence on Durban Road were damaged sometime on the 27th of November.

2) A vehicle that was parked at Sault Transmission on Pim Street had the front windshield smashed sometime overnight on the 26th – 27th of November.

22 Motor Vehicle Collisions

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service completed 22 motor vehicle accident reports yesterday and again would like to remind drivers to adjust their driving habits according to weather conditions. Drivers and pedestrians should allow themselves a little more travel time to arrive at their destinations. A number of the vehicle collisions have occurred because drivers are not adjusting their driving to the weather conditions.
